June 10

1988 - Friday - 44° at 6 AM. Beautiful day - sunny and cool. Wes worked on fence above barn gate - putting on boards. I brought up leaf mulch - put it on perennial garden - (sun garden) Transplanted Heather and Geranium - cleaned up wall garden. 

1989 - Saturday - 56° at 6 AM. Cloudy - supposed to clear. we hope so. Dogs walked before breakfast. over 1 1/2 inch rain last 24 hours. Walked dogs. Started to clear about 10 o'clock. Was able to cut grass - Wes raked South side - so long. He exchanged the positions of the Klondike and Pink Balloon (over Cornus Canadensis) Exburys - He cut grass on East - beyond Lamium I deadheaded perennials - plants packed down in rain righted in sun. Eileen's operation scheduled for Monday. 

1990 - Sunday - 62° at 6 AM. Cloudy - then mostly sunny. To 8 o'clock Mass. Wes continued stripping seed and raising level of path behind shade garden - finished it at end of day. I planted Mertensia on South Slope and moved Bloodroof from under rhododendron (leucothoe bank) to spots along wild flower path nearer house. Trimmed up hemlocks. Planted Dahlias - cut south grass. Phoned sisters - all well - Relocated 1 squirrel and 1 chipmunk (#26 squirrel #5 chipmunk)

1991 - Monday - 62° at 6:30. Fair - to be up to 90's didn't check temperature but it was very warm in the sun. Wes turned off the pump - cut in the branch line to the East Slope - dug more of the ditch going up the path - Connections made - water was on again in afternoon. Big job I cut the grass - all places. Potted up 3 Marigolds for the Flower Show - trimmed the Rosemary Wreath - potted a baby rose. Watered a lot of plants - brought up leaf chips for some places. Mailed photograph to [[Nire Caroanchn?]]

1992 - Wednesday - 59° at 6:30. Beautiful - No paper - came later. Wes worked all day weeding well/shed path - finished it. I cut grass again - grows fast and Lawnboy is set high. We went to S+S (bought for when no suet) filled car with gasoline - Marcus and bank. Sent check to Prudential to buy Ford Preferred Stock. Staked a few perennials have lots of empty pots an didn't [[slupt?]] plants in spring Put water on sun garden as fertilized it. Made one box of cuttings of native azaleas.

June 11

1988 - Saturday. 48° at 6 AM - Beautiful day. Wes continued with putting boards on fence up the road - I helped a bit holding them for nailing - he finished to the turning east point at 4 pm. I shopped Waldbaum - bananas 69¢ a pound - and Marcus - put TM dividend in bank. To Billie Newell's after 5 pm for the Belmont - Risen Star won - Wes won $15.00 on Brian's Theme coming in third - home at 6:45 - beautiful evening.

1989 - Sunday. 58° at 6 AM. Partly cloudy - windy Walked dogs. To 8 o'clock Mass. Chores around house + grounds. Went to Phelps Hospital after lunch - visited Eileen - to Hendrik Lane - cut Eileen's grass - walked dogs Spent night in Tarrytown.

1990 - Monday - 58° at 6 AM - Cloudy - mist at 3 pm - by 4 had to come in. To Mass. Shopped Stop + Shop - gasfor car - Wes' eye drops prescription renewed - put Bell Atlantic Certificate in safe deposit - Youngs for Rootone - Liquor for party Friday - reclamation with papers. After lunch. cut North grass - just before rain - transplanted small grass from path to North grass. Wes relocated one chipmunk - squirrel wouldn't go in trap.

1991 - Tuesday - 66° at 6 AM - To be HHH. It was - no thunderstorm in evening here - a little rain .05. To Mass. I worked at Ballard Garden (3 young men helped) to Pinchbeck for a clay pot and Stop + Shop for bananas before going home for lunch. Wes continued work on the water line to the top - Terrible digging through roots and stones. I cleaned up plants for flower show.

1992 - Thursday - 54° at 6 AM. Beautiful - Cool night Sunny clear beautiful day. To Mass. Packed a lunch and to Tempanelli's at 8:30 - Jeanne drove to Stone Crop Cold Spring where Garden Club had arranged a visit, walked about admiring gardens. bought 2 Lamium white Nancy. Ate lunch on terrace of Pat Teuney's brother-in-law - top of mountain in Garrison overlooking Hudson River and West Point. Home at 3 - nap - to pick up saw at Nutmeg - to Mall where I couldn't get a haircut but bought sunglasses. Big jam on road account circus
