June 24

1988 - Friday 50° at 6 AM - Fair - beautiful day if only we had had an inch of rain. To Mass. 
Went to McKeon’s for 2 containers of cow manure. Used some around Delphinium. Wes put wire in remaining opening of fence north of upper gate - we replaced wire just south of end of front fence - Wes repaired fence on Grouse border - cut grass along road and at cliff edge - watered - repotted clerodendrun - Trimmed top of Pinus Flexilis

1989 - Saturday. 64° at 6 AM - Foggy - light shower at noon. 1/4 inch at 8 AM from last night's rain. Wes worked on holding bed area - clearing + grubbing 
I deadheaded azaleas along compost path - trimmed mugho pine [[mugo pine]] on wood knoll once more. To Hemlock Beach Assoc. Meeting at 11 - only 5 families represented - We later decided to resign. I weeded cliff path deadheaded Heuchera. To Keeler Tavern reception - opening of garden room addition - on to [[Nelegau's?]] Cocktail party - home at 7:15.

1990 - Sunday - in Vancouver - beautiful weather. Took train and boat tour to Saanich - beautiful ride in steam train along water - missed the bus trip to Shannon Falls but got our money back - boat return to Vancouver and walked to hotel - [[crossed out]] light supper in Garden Room Restaurant - bed' [[/crossed out]] to Boat House Restaurant - walking distance from hotel - salmon

1991 - Monday. Beautiful day - cool morning - warm sun. I worked at Ballard Garden - tomorrow being meeting day. Garden looked beautiful - load of sweet peat delivered and spread on the beds. Home at 12:15 after stopping to buy blueberries at Grand Union. Wes had cut out the Maple Leaf Viburnum and started weeding at South slope - we continued with that in afternoon. I made blueberry muffins, but we wont call on Millicent Sattler tomorrow as a friend is with her -

1992. Wednesday - 59° at 7 AM - Raining - Final .60 at noon. Tibor chased groundhog. J caught one in wall behind shade garden. Tibor took it away, no suet in store. (these W's notes) 
G - in Jackson Hole - left by bus at 8:30 for Grand Teton National Park + Colter Bay Marina - private launch at noon for cruise on Lake Jackson to Elk Island where lunch was cooked for us - Return cruise + talk on area 
Bus returned to Spring Creek via Moose Visitor Center - saw plaque for Stephen Mathes. Anne Tracy's grandfather. Dinner at 7 in Conference Center.

June 25

1988 - Saturday - 58° at 6:55 - Slept late - Partly cloudy - Stiff dry breeze - not the hoped for storm - two claps of thunder in night - no rain

1989 - Sunday - 64° at 6 AM. Clear + Mostly sunny warm day. To 8 o'clock Mass. I went to Muriel Pedersen's to check names of plants in Succulent jar for garden club show Tuesday. Left N.Y. Times of Saturday June 17 at the Bleckwehl's for Chelsea's birthday. Home for lunch + nap Wes had continued clearing holding bed area and worked there in afternoon. I moved ferns in well garden - better position for them against big rock - Dug up badly placed Narcissus there and put them along shed path Cocktail on deck - lots of mosquitoes this year - Lots of gypsy worms dead after last weeks spray.

1990 - Monday - in Vancouver. Took tour bus to ferry to Vancouver Island - Toured Victoria and Island points - visited Butchart Garden - disappointed as now very touristy - but in wonderful condition and very crowded - back at Westin Bayshore Hotel after 8 pm - light supper in hotel. Packed for return home. 

1991 - Tuesday - 56° at 6 AM. Beautiful day. To Mass. Trimmed two hemlocks at side of garden room - decided to hire it done in future. Limbed up hemlock near shade garden and a few low limbs from Cornus Kousa. Early lunch. I went to Garden Club Meeting at Mrs. Randolph's, picking up Helen Ross. Won silver bowl for sweepstakes. Home at 4:30. Wes continued the weeding of the south slope. He watered the area above the wells. We had watered the Garden Room at lunchtime as plants drooping 

1992 - Thursday. 59° - Partly cloudy (W's notes) Mama Red Bellied feeding Kid as soon as put suet out. Turkey sandwich for lunch. Picked up new trap for groundhog at Young's - 2 pieces suet. Bait in trap eaten but didn't catch groundhog. Wright sprayed in morning - nice sunny day at noon - 
G at Spring Creek Resort, Jackson Hole - breakfast at 9. Left at 8 by bus via John D Rockefeller Memorial Parkway to Yellowstone National Park - saw Old Faithful and many other geysers - fringed gentian growing along path - Yellowstone Lodge crowded - sections of Park burned out - grass + wildflowers coming back. Had picnic lunch. Dinner in Conference Center
