August 21
1988-Sunday- 56° at 6am- Fair beautiful day. Sunny and breezy. To 8 o'clock Mass.
Checked on the dogs at Carolyn's house - seem ok. Wes balanced books - called Mary. I put sprinklers on rhododendrons around Garden Room - edged grass. Wes cooked lambchops at noon. Watered well and ferns & rhododendrons at well area. To Billie's for a drink at 5 - son Mickey & new wife there - home at 7 for soup.

1989 - Monday - 70° at 6 AM - Partly cloudy morning- Thunderstorm at 3:30- 3/4 inch rain - stopped work but glad for the rain. To Mass. To Evergreen Nurseries on Route 35- ordered topsoil & Moody's (in bags) peat- delivered in afternoon- bought Ruby Glow Sedum and Clematis Nelly Moser, planted that against front fence - Secum in pot - Wes went to Wickes for a 4" drain pipe - replaced the larger one at walk Northeast deck- thunderstorm stopped work.

1990- Tuesday- 55° at 6 am. Cloudy- sprinkles over night- few sprinkles during day. To Mass. I worked at Ballard with Sandy Corcoran 8:30/12. We picked up lots of muddy Japanese Iris from Mills Aborn and holed them in at Ballard- Sandy took some. Wes had brought soil to holding bed area. We went to Ridgefield for liquor, bird food, suet - new printing gadget for labels - made copy of [[?]] information given me by Louise McKeon.

1991 - Wednesday - 63° at 7 AM. 3 more inches rain in last night's storm. (To record Wes redid wall at back right side of garden room yesterday - to enlarge planting space.). Muriel Pedersen came around, we planted a box of ground covers for the Washington show on Sept. 6th. - After lunch I replanted ground covers not used - cleaned up pots. We started raking paths washed out in heavy rain. Loads of twigs and leaves down - cleaned up some sections.
Russian coup failed - Gorbachev back in Moscow.

1992 - Friday - 49° - 7 am. I went to Mass - Wes rested.
To Stop & Shop and gasoline. Wes had 10:30 appointment with Dr James - told had Lyme Disease - given prescription for Doxycycline (2 a day) - having some of same symptoms, I went to Dr Ahern - have either flu or Lyme Disease (no exact test) prescription for amoxicillin (3 a day for 21 days). To S&S Pharmacy to fill prescriptions - our phone no dial tone - reported it from S&S - Cable trouble - light supper - early bed - lots of aches

August 22

1988 - Monday - 48° at 6:30 - cold to us! Fair.
Wes worked with me at Ballard in morning (meeting there tomorrow) We became involved in delivery of Ball's Mix when no one there to offload it. Shopped for liquor & groceries enroute home and checked on dogs at Carolyn's.
After lunch, watered perennial garden - azaleas along compost path - viburnums and other plants on Wood Knoll. Plants wilt in a day or so when not watered -
Early to bed.

1989. Tuesday - 65° at 6 AM. Fair beautiful day - sun was warm. To Mass. I picked up Quinine at CVS, few groceries at Stop & Shop. Wes replaced grill tank, cleaned filter on Lawnboy. At 12:30 Wes dropped me at Helen Ross'and he picked up Alex. Helen & I went to RGC meeting at Ballard Park. Wes & Alex to lunch at the Windmill - they bought a flagstone ($10.00) to replace broken one on walk NE of deck. Helen & I returned at 3:45 - Rosses left but returned soon as Alex couldn't find his wallet. After a search here, it turned up in his bedroom at home.

1990 - Wednesday - 63° at 7 AM. Cloudy - cool in morning - increasingly humid in afternoon. 
  Hurray! Goodwill came to take the bedroom rug, outdoor loungers, tables, etc. Wouldn't take rug pad.
I cut grass. Wes dug hole on Wood Knoll to move Azalea atlanticum close to path and hit many rocks - one big one still in there by quitting time -

1991 - Thursday - 60° at 6 AM. Fair day. To Mass. 10 yards of topsoil delivered. Wes spent the day moving most of it by wheelbarrow to north grass. I took Muriel Pedersen's excess ground cover plants back to her and her propagation box - had Ridgefield bank book brought up-to-date. Cut south grass - littered with mole runs. To Punkie Scott’s at 3 pm to advise on placement of new shrubs.

1992 - Saturday - Beautiful fair day - lost to us. Suffering with aches and pains and chills - very dizzy. I fainted walking to the kitchen. Wes a little better. He managed to cut the south grass in afternoon. I spent the day on sofa or in bed - sleeping. Dr. Ahern phoned. Blood count and urine report okay!
Had phoned Terry Keller last night could not attend her party for Trang's retirement.
