September 26 

1988 - Monday - 48° at 6:30 - Fair - beautiful fall day if you like it dry.  To Mass, breakfast following. 
Worked on deer fence in morning - finishing the part down the very steep north hill. 
After lunch we transplanted the procumbens nana juniper from the front bank (4 of them) to spot along cliff beyond triangle garden - look good to us.  Watered Wood Knoll & 3 Hemlocks Judson line moved this season. 

1989 - Tuesday - 59° of 6AM - Raining until noon - 3/4 inch.  To Mass.  Wrote to Holmdens - ordered pecans - did crosswood - Wes in shop.  Early lunch as I went to Louise McKeon's who drove to Garden Club Meeting at Heidi Riggs - program on [[?Wees]] Farm.  Handsome new house in beautiful area.
Wes worked outdoors from clearing at 3pm picking up wood from downed tree in Hugo winds. 

1990 - Wednesday - 55° at 7AM.  Good to sleep late.  Decided not to go to Texaco luncheon meeting as my marked face is troubling me.  Sun today 6:47/6:47. 
I went to Macy's one day sale - bought Reeboks and silk scarf for Joan's birthday.  Wes took slacks to change bought gasoline at Mobil $1.69 gal. on credit card - 5¢ less for cash.  I cut the grass.  Wes worked on upper Northeast.
Jim Bruno  came - will paint laundry doors - stain well.
Thunder but no rain here - disappointing.

1991 - Thursday - 58° at 6AM.  Rain - 3/4 inch by time ended 11 AM.  To Mass.  Chores around house.  
To John Jay House at 10:30 for Herb Fair - had lunch bought Stachys for Heidi Riggs.  Sun came out while there.  Beautiful afternoon.  Wes dug out spruce on Wood Knoll - will take it to Timpanelli's.  I put the plants delivered by Crownsville Nursery in the top holding bed.  We had to taken my St Thomas School picture to frame it - shocked at framing prices.  Sun 6:47 - 6:47

1992 - Saturday - 54° at 7AM.  Raining - Storm Danielle off Philadelphia - winds 45 mph - weeakening - (Sun 6:48 - 6:46)  Light rain and mist most of day. 
Worked on crossword - finished it in evening.  To S&S Marcus and Liquor.  Lunch - short nap.  To North Street Theatre to see "Last of the Mohicans" - beautiful scenery (done in North Carolina Virgin Forest)  Home to shower & have dinner 
Lots of cars out.


September 27

1988 - Tuesday - 48° at 6AM - Dark.  Fog over pond.  Became a beautiful fall day.  To Mass
Wes picked up stones dug up during recent transplants.  I washed hair - Wrote letters - picked flowers for Garden Club Meeting - Gentiana septemfida and Asters (won 1st & 2nd) - at Patty Sticknoth's - Mary Ann McQuirty, Speaker - Home at 5pm
Lou Strobl, Ed Teclaw, Bob Dorsch took Wes to lunch at Magnificos 

1989 - Wednesday; 44° at 7AM - Fair - Love these mornings to sleep in!  Beautiful fall day - cold breeze but sun warm.  Picked up Muriel at Melinda & Doug's - Wes turned over compost.  He moved more logs from Judson side.  I vacuumed - cut the grass - pulled up some snapdragons - emptied birdfeeder to take out damp seed - we have a very fat Blue Jay who hops - we haven't seen him fly

1990 - Thursday - 58° at 6AM.  Dark - Foggy - Cleared to a beautiful day about 11 o'clock.  To Mass 
Mailed birthday/anniversary presents to girls - shopped at Stop & Shop.  To Herb Fair North Salem for sandwich and cider - donated 12 Aruncus Aethusifolius.
Garage door repaired in afternoon.
Transplanted a dozen small laurel/rhododendron from upper bed to Wes new clearing northeast slope. 
My face spots very itchy - some turning dark.

1991 - Friday - 48° - Fair - Cool - beautiful day - To Mass.  Defrosted refrigerator - vacuumed - washed floor.  Wes brought spruce dug yesterday to car - We took it to Timpanelli's - going over Ned Mountain where we saw a group of young deer - planted Spruce - took all morning 
After lunch Wes moved Viburnum Carlesi into Spruce [[?]] cleaned up that Wood Knoll area.  I cut south grass - Composed some annuals.

1992 - Sunday - 60° at 6AM.  Off and on rainy - too bad for Octoberfest at St. Eliz. Seton.  To 8 o'clock Mass.  Wes wrote contribution checks.  I made a Plum Tort. 
To the Mall - bought cover for frill & a brush & a brush - chrysanthemum for front steps (Sears) Ginger, Spices, etc. for Holmden's Christmas basket - undersheets at Lord & Taylor - shoes - Easy Spirit - for Wes.  To church bought chances for the quilt - chicken dinners, which we took home since it was raining - had a martini - ate the chicken - nap - I did ironing - read papers.  Had phoned sisters in morning
