November 11

1988 - Friday - 42° at 6 AM - Clear - Mostly fair day - cold and windy. To mass. Took bulbs and mini-rose to Muriel Peterson returned from Cheri's bought gasoline - ordered turkey at Brunetti - Wes left watch at Addessi - shopped Stop & Shop and bought bud food at Young. Home for lunch & nap. Blew leaves from shade garden area - raked leaves there and along road on South side - beginning to look neater.

1989 - Saturday - 38° at 7 AM - Fair beautiful morning - a little cloudy in afternoon but moon & stars out at night. Wes chopped leaves at the shed in the A.M. - machine broke after. Young's picked it up for servicing, so Wes can rest his neck and wrist muscles! I went to town for gasoline ($1.379) Grand Union - can get large oatmeal there. Visited Kelly at Blockwell's - Caroline and Pete went to Inn on Lake Waramaug for the weekend - Marla the nanny is leaving - new nanny coming - Wes & I raked leaves at cliff in P.M. looking cleaner. Wes drained pump water lines.

1990 - Sunday - 40° at 6 AM - Fair - windy - so windy we were in most of day. To 8 o'clock mass.
Put lights (3 sets) over plant trays - located it near furnace rather than the back of Wes' shop - Placed some plants on one level. Wes spent rest of day rearranging shop.
I cut down last of Sedum Autumn Joy and other plants at entrance gate garden. Took leaves from Freddy pool.

1991 - Monday. 38° at 6 AM. Cloudy - damp, misty - some rain - little over half inch at day's end. To mass as will not go tomorrow - We hope Andy Vill will come there to start leaf chipper. To Stop & Shop - lots of people - bananas 4 lbs $1.00 again. I cleaned up newspapers that had collected - did mending - washed - ironed. Wes went back to shop to get acquainted there again.

1992 - Wednesday - 46° at 4:30. Light rain off and on all day. House chores -  crossword - dry run to Danbury Recycling before hazardous waste day Saturday - located that and went to Staples - loads of stationary but no five-year diary - or a book to use in its place. Lunch, nap - cleaned up papers - early dinner as went to Carolyn & Pete's at 6 pm to sit with Chelsea until 8:15 while they were at an appointment - home at 8:45 pm - lots of traffic going over there.

November 12

1988 - Saturday - 32° at 7 AM. Fair - Beautiful fall day. Wes chipped leaves all day - finished the pile at the shed - moved the chipper to the Judson line and did some of that huge pile. I cleaned the house - then raked in bog and along front walk. Jim Freeman brought Medicare check Dr. Savetsky's office had sent to 246 G:W. We went to Church Parking Lot where Mannions picked us up & we followed Bob Morris & Rosses to Morrises for dinner. Home at 12.

1989 - Sunday - 48° at 6 AM - Fair - very breezy so felt cold. To 8 o'clock Mass. Read papers - relaxed, as slept poorly last night - napped on sofa in sittingroom in the warm sun. Left at 12:30 for Waccabuc where were guests of Sattler's for lunch - Timpanellis - Tracys - Sobols there. 
Phoned Joan. Bit and Sally at Carolyn's & Pete's - all well

1990 - Monday - 38° at 7 AM. Cloudy & very windy. Became sunny but very high wind gusts. Wes put on front storm door - I did a wash - emptied fence two outdoor pots and replanted the lamium from there. Took peat to holding bed and Wes brought up 3 wheelbarrow loads of composted cow manure. worked all that in. Wes raked leaves on northeast slope. Now there is a big pile to chip at shed. I cleaned up front walk - deck - Freddy pool of leaves -and step rock garden.

1991 - Tuesday - 38° at 6 AM. Light trace of snow. Over night - a surprise. Wes took leaf chipper to wild garden pile - Andy Vill came at 8 AM to start it and Wes chipped all day - Andy returned at 2 pm to install damaged airfilter and restart machine. I raked leaves in shade garden - behind that garden and down bank to mid garden. Cut off final 'Autumn Joy' sedum and started cutting down Joe's garden - dead tired at night.

1992 - Thursday. 48° at 7 AM - Light rain, despite the moon being out last night. Indoor day again - no leaf raking To Liquor Store - Marcus - CUS in the mall to buy diary (loose leaf small book) for our record keeping next year. 
Made a pumpkin pie using Prevention recipe - Crumb crust - good, but not the Thanksgiving treat.
Last mystery "Maigret" on Channel 13 - we have enjoyed them.
