December 27

1988 - Tuesday - 26° at 6AM - Sun 7:19 - 4:35
Cloudy, damp, cold, even some hail in the morning. 
To Mass.  Relocated one squirrel.  To Bonanza Bee Terminal to check on long-term parking - get schedule - Marcus - Mall to buy replacement Coco perfume for Eileen - (broke her Christmas present)  Lunch - nap - Wes in shop - 
I finished black knitted vest - wore it to Billie Newell's at 4:30 where we had a cocktail - Grace Schaefer there - home at 5:40.

1989 - Wednesday - 8° at 7AM - Fair.  Sun 7:19-4:35 
Very cold, mostly sunny day.  Did crossword - I went to card shop and Stop & Shop - bananas green & 59¢/lb. 
To Dr. Yanity - luckily didn't have to have my broken tooth (filling) capped - refilled it.  Wes waited for Standard Oil on furnace but never came - Wes phoned - part not in - maybe tomorrow - oil delivery - 333 gals at 1.33/gal - delivery in October 96¢.  Cold weather using up supply and Exxon fire causing high price.  Did some sewing in afternoon - Wes read Ray.  "Aida" in evening. 

1990 - Thursday - 20° at 6AM - Sun 7:19-4:35 - didn't see it today - very wintry looking.  To Mass.  I went to Designer Fabrics, Norwalk, bought wool challis and white cotton - enroute there mailed birthday card to Helen Ross and stopped at bank - home at noon - Wes had written to Ed Mantle who lost his second wife.  After lunch to Fine Arts Brookfield to see "Dances with Wolves" very beautiful and sad.  Home at 5 - a long movie. 

1991 - Friday - 29° at 6AM.  Blackwell's little flashlight handy to check thermometer.  Sun 7:19 - 4:35. 
Good winter day.  To Mass.  Wes set up TR - one day late for the holiday.  He wrote Dr Puckner for records and to thank.  I wrote Punkie - Bleckwehls - sent Marion Cornell the Wheeler Avenue newspaper article etc.  Did crossword.  Took a mile walk - our muscles and wind are bad.  Ironed Christmas linens.  Washed kitchen & den windows.  Put salt hay on [[? Daruris]] plants.

1992 - Sunday - 15° at 6:15.  Sun 7:19-4:35.  Re 1989 - oil delivery last week from Standard Oil $.999 gal. 307 gallons.  To 8 o'clock Mass.
Wes cleaning up shop.  I wrote letters and thank-you notes.  Phoned Joan & Kelly - spoke to Barbara.  John Davis phoned us.  We took a walk to #215 Ned Mountain - sunshine but cold.  Read papers did crosswords. 


December 28

1988 - Wednesday - 44° at 7AM.  Cloudy.  Sun 7:20-4:36.  Cloudy, miserable day - rain before noon - heavy at times and a high wind at dark - cleared later.  
To Bleckwell's to leave Eileen's gifts to them - coffee cake and small copper family tray - Wes left film for developing - no luck on leaving locomotive wheels at Vintage Auto Shop - had car washed - Stop & Shop - Wes in shop - I recopied our address book.  To Nancy - Caroll Draper at 6 pm for eggnog party - showed plans for her home in Wyoming.  Home 9:30. 

1989 - Thursday - 17° at 7AM.  Cloudy.  About an inch of snow.  Sun 7:19 - 4:36.  Sunny day - up to 30° - Tropical Furnace men came about 10 o'clock - new parts in - glad to have it working properly - One convector heater, in 
den doesn't work but we don't need it.  To Reclamation (a mess) - bank - Needles Wool Shop but don't have more blue tweed wool - they are going out of business - to Stop & Shop for bananas green and expensive. 

1990 - Friday - 26° at 7:30 - Snowing - Sun 7:19 - 4:35.
No Mass.  Snow continued lightly in morning - Wes measured 7" - quite a lot to shovel for first snowfall.  Cleaned driveway - path to front door - side to birdfeeder and part of deck - pulled snow from Solar roof. Temperature rose slowly to 34° - supposed to be mild for weekend.  Either TR didn't come or we missed.  Washed material for blouse and Christmas napkins.

1991 - Saturday - 30° at 8AM.  Good to sleep late.  Sun up 7:19/4:35.  Wes put a board over hole in linen closet - now needs paint.  I wrote to Pam - Joan - Madolyn Doyne (did she move?).  Made bran muffins with Raisin Bran.  We worked on the crossword  - couldn't finish it.  Took a walk to Otto’s Cabin #215 - saw two horses and two cars - lovely sunshine morning - clouds in afternoon.  Wes took a hot bath - doctor's orders - hard to do it at our age. 
 
1992 - Monday - 26° at 6:45.  Cloudy - Sun 7:20 - 4:36.  Snowing at 7:30 AM - part hail - very bad driving going to Ridgefield - I had 9AM appointment - Dr. David Litoff - eyes OK - come back six months.  To Squash's - new refill for this pen - back order desk blotter and refill for purse diary - Stopped at S&S - bananas this week 3/89¢ - they do vary in price.  Roads better enroute home.  No walk today.  Made bran muffins and Branola Bars.  Wes phoned man in Texas re his ad in Livesteam for a [[strikethrough]] 10" [[/strikethrough]] one inch locomotive - wants a bigger one than "Atlantic" Wes has.
