the Paulista Museum, San Paulo, Brazil, a contribution of fresh water shells from Brazil & the Argentine Republic was received.
Its contains many rarities and adds a large number of species to the collection.
   From Rev. Al. Loomis of Japan, some interesting shells were received during the year from the West coast of Japan.
These specimens have been retained for the reserve series & the names forwarded to Mr. Loomis at his request.
  Dr. E. A. Mearne, United States Army surgeon to the Commission of the Inter-national Boundary Survey, of the boundary between the United States & Mexico, has con-tinued to send to the Museum shells collected at varione places along the hire of the Survey, with the object hereafter of having a report upon them printed with the reports of the Inter-national Boundary Surey.
