can be judged from a cursory inspection, these collections of Dr. Mearus contain a good many things of interest.
   
Mr. J.D.Mitchell of Victoria, Texas has continued to send various specimens of shells from Texas to the Museum, and during the year has printed a small list or catalogue of the Texas Mollusks which he has collected. Among the specimens sent by him to the Museum several are very acceptable additions to our series.
   
Mr. William Moss, Ashton-under-Lyne, England, has favored us with numerous photographs of the teeth of mollusks and mounted specimens of the darts of the English Helices and also of their radulae. These will be useful for comparison with those of American species.
