Accession 29006, Feb. 11, 1895 and other [[strikethrough]] dates [[/strikethrough]] accessions.  Pleurotomaria beyrichi, Hilg, Japan. Gift of Rev. Dr. L.J. Chamberlain (purchased of Hugh Fulton for £ 25). This extremely fine and rare shell, together with other valuable species purchased by Dr. Chamberlain, place his donations far in advance of all others received during the year.

Accession 29430, May 27, 1895. Land, fresh-water and marine shells from the Philippine Islands, presented by Hamline University (through H.L. Osborn), in return for naming the large collection belonging to the university.

Accession 28696. Nov. 13, 1894 A series of Ansdontas and Unios from Canada and British America, presented by the Geological Survey of Canada (through J. F. Whiteaves), in return for naming the Unionidæ of the Geological Survey. This material, having accurate localities, is extremely valuable for its evidence on geographical distribution.

Accession 28595. Oct. 15, 1894. Unionidæ and other fresh-water shells from Dr. H. von Ihering from Central and South America, in return for naming material. Contains many rare species hitherto unrepresented in our collection.
