6. WHAT EXPLORATIONS (1) BY THE MUSEUM AND (2) UNDER OTHER AUSPICES, HAVE RESULTED IN ENRICHING THE COLLECTIONS UNDER YOUR CARE?

The collections of mollusks made by Prof. Alex Agassiz on the yacht Wild Duck, among the Bahamas were worked up by Mr. Dall at the Museum and a series of the species was presented by Prof Agassiz.

//Explorations of the mollusk fauna of San Pedro Bay, Cuba, have [[strikethrough]]for some time [[/strikethrough]] been carried on systematically by a group of conchologists, especially Miss Ida Shepard and Mr. T.S. Oldroyd, for some years. The doubtful forms have been worked out at the Museum and a series of them including many rarities has been donated by the collectors.

Explorations by the California Academy of Sciences in the Lower Californian Peninsula have resulted in collecting some fine and rare landshells of which a series has been donated to the Museum by the Academy.//
