The Family Nassidae, containing several genera and many species, is distributed throughout most of the seas of the world. One of these ([[underline]] Nassa reticulata [[/underline]]) is extremely destructive to the oysters in Western Europe, as it bores through the shells of the young, and eats untold millions of the animals.
