P.S. Connie has never been to a college football game. Bob.

first string substitute on the Varsity. Only substitute used against Princeton. Played 20 minutes to rest up a halfback. Princeton didn't score [[?]] that time - & believe I averted one probable score. Played 2 minutes vs. Yale just to get the letter. My services weren't needed. Princeton beat Harvard 4-1, but we beat Yale 3-2 at New Haven. Played class baseball for the Senior Baseball Team in 1927. Outfield & alternate pitches. As a graduate student at N.H.U. I teamed up with Ronald Tetley - (former Varsity tennis player & winter sports team Capt.) to win the doubles championship in tennis for the summer school in 1929. Tetley was runner up in the singles but lost to Woods of Portsmouth. We beat Woods & Roland Chandler in the doubles. I didn't get very far in the singles before being eliminated. [[Guess?]] I played against weaker opposition - & didn't participate in a losing set - singles or doubles.

We are busy at the lumberyard - retailing mostly hardwood - that comes in largely from Jackson N.H. that will soon be put through our big new dry kiln - & later shipped to a furniture concern in the middle west. Cold nights now. Saw a deer at Passaconaway - a week ago Sun. within a quarter of a mile of our camp.

Was mighty glad to see you folks this summer - & glad you & Ruthie had a chance to meet. Hope you will again. Thanks for writing so promptly. Will keep you posted on developments.

Best of luck.
Bob Beals.
