and it was quite an experience. Hereafter in extremely hot weather, I think that two desserts might not be a bad idea, in case one doesn't stay frozen.

I've certainly missed those trips to the Chesapeake this year. About the only swimming I have done was at Glen Echo this last Saturday when Lucy Chapin borrowed the family car and we went there. Then we had lunch at the Chapin's and played Canasta (have you ever played that?).

However, as usual, artificial pools can't begin to compare with natural bodies of water, although a dobsonfly did manage to turn up from somewhere in the pool - a meager attempt at naturalness.

Next week I plan to leave for Conn. for a week or two, if all goes as planned. My sister has taken a nursing position so I imagine that I'll be helping a bit with the housework. However, it will be nice to get in the ponds near home again - which are full of all sorts of animals and plants.
