Heres a pleasant surprise My girlfriend took me to a dance at the high school. I had my hair all fixed up & wore my graduation dress and for a long time everyone was dancing but me who didn't know how. Just my luck. I was sitting in the back row of the auditorium when someone tapped me on the shoulder. I looked up and there was a tall boy saying "may I have this dance?" Hold your breath! I said "I don't know how to dance" and he said "you don't" and walked on. Why didn't I say "yes, if you'll teach me how" Is that what you would have said. A bunch of boys asked me my name, where I lived etc. 

Now to the more practical side of my vacation. Every morning I would reach in the frigidaire with a tablespoon and dip out some delicious cream and put it on my cereal. yum, yum What extravagance 

I got a bathing suit a few days ago and yesterday Jean's mother and daddy took both of us to Glen Echo and I rode on the amusements & went swimming for two hours. I had lots of fun.

John Cory is so cute and he eats a lot of things now.

Glen Echo Park is what I think is the park they are talking about. It was historically built for African-Americans, but it was open to everyone, from the early 1900s to 1960 when it was demolished. It was an amusement and water park, like in the letter.
