The Committee to Re-elect Christine Blanchard met Wednesday and issued the following statement:

"First we wish to commend the Davis Enterprise for inaugurating the School Board Candidates Roundup column. 
"Second, we wish to acknowledge the favorable community response to Mrs. Blanchard's first issue statement on Finance and Budgetary Accountability recently appearing in the Davis Enterprise. Mrs. Blanchard will release a second statement tomorrow. It will be conceded with 'The Board and the Community'.

"Third the committee wishes to acknowledge the participation of several young students and welcomes any others who might be interested in Mrs. Blanchard's re-election. There are lots of jobs to be done and we welcome their help. For example, said Mrs. Marchand,



"We can turn this deficit from a disadvantage into a real advantage," stated Dr. Peter Kenner, candidate for Davis School Board. "We can use this proposed deficit as an opportunity to have real community dialogue on what we all want our schools to be. We can use community resources, the parents, students, and the university and we can learn a lot from private schools."

Totalled car
Raymond Bailey Rollins, 35, of 2524 Lafayette drive, was northbound on Mace boulevard last night when he lost control of his car, it rolled over, and was totaled. Rollins escaped injury, according to the California highway patrol. 
Rollins, who was driving a '69 Ford, was 250 feet south of Mace's intersection with Covell boulevard when the accident occurred, highway patrolmen say. They reported the time as 8:45 p.m.
