To DAY is the Birthday of [[blank line]]

Fair. [[?]] You can not buy any more passenger cars (automobiles)!!!!!!!!!!! (You can get secondhand ones)

In the morning I went with Dolores to Clarendon and exchanged my pocket edition book- "The Return of the Native" by Hardy for "Etiquette" by Magery Wilson [[Margery Wilson]].

I got my Lady Esther tube of face cream + sent for it 33 days ago, nine sample powder (face) shades. !!! 

Manilla surrendurred [[surrendured]] - The Japs captured it!!!! Mother got me a second hand book (10 ยข/- "Janice Meredith" by Ford !! It is good - about a girl in revolutionary war times at the giggling stage 
Dolores came over in the afternoon + we knitted on our white facecloths. I took my piano lesson at 3:30 + my singing lesson at night

ToDAY is the Birthday of [[blank line]]
Fair. Manilla has fallen but General McArthur + troops are still fighting stubbornly there in Phillipines [[circled]]WAR[[/circled]]

I had my hair washed. I wrote my last 2 thank you letters + practiced 2 hrs. Dolores came over late in the  afternoon + we knitted some. 
We went to Mr. Weisz's + showed him my picture done by Mother - he said it was good and gave her a few points to change on it. 
I ate a lot of cookies there.
