MONDAY

Fair. I stayed home in the morning. Dolores came over she is better - Mother talked to her + she felt okay. We went riding some on Bobby's bike - she on mine. She got worried again when she went home, however. I got my allowance - 15 cents. I have 15ยข now. In the afternoon Dolores came over + we took turns riding my bicycle + when she went home I played cars with Bobbie. Oh yes - Dolores ate lunch with us. The man began to paint our house. He will paint all the eaves, drain pipes, etc, white - take out screens + paint them + around windows inside screens + outside, He painted back porch blue + steps blue + ceiling light blue. Japanese beetles are out - mother caught one today.

Fair. Mother went downtown in the morning. I started my Japanese beetle campaign - Dolores + I got a lot - I got them + she held the jar. I pasted this label on my jar (I put them in a jar with a hole in cover).
The sides of house + part of front are done. 

Bottle up the Japs!!
Kill as many "jap"
beetles as possible.
As to protect 
American fruit trees
and many species of garden flowers
and even some of
vegetables of our
Victory gardens
Destroy now
