$$ WAR NEWS!

DESKAIDE * THE SILENT SECRETARY * 1942

DECEMBER 28
MONDAY

Cloudy, misty & chilly. In the morning I wrote last thank-you letters (2) & did practicing and homework. (This ink is what we have at home as strong as possible - I get most of my ink at school.) I begin getting my allowance again today - 15¢. I had 77¢ - have 92¢ now! In the afternoon I went to see Dolores & stayed all afternoon Her mother was in a bad mood. Carol Swain called up + we had a silly conversation. Not much is happening in war because of heavy rains, etc.
