But I--and-- MRS STARR: I'd still-- MINNIE: China, and-- MRS STARR: I'd still love to hear more about your family. MINNIE: Well-- MRS STARR: This helps me to interpret, you see. MINNIE: What say? MINNIE: Well, that's more-- There isn't much more because you see my mother here and grandmother and they--my grandmother mostly because I was home with her mostly. MRS STARR: Yes. MINNIE: Because my mother had to gather, you know, had to work out in service. And Mama, she was home, and soon I didn't know anything about my father. I saw him about three times in my life.
