MINNIE EVANS
M.E. Egypt, he says when the children of Israel was down in Egypt God told Moses to take the children and leave and He tole them - give them orders of what to do and then the night that they left Is un Egypt God told then not a dog should move his tongue. Not a dog would bark in the whole place. That's what this represents (N.H.S. yes) and He said this is Egypt.

N.H.S Pick up the paper.

M.E. Who is that? Somebody coming?

N.H.S. Yes. Come in.

M.E. You just come on by. When Moses was in Egypt God told him to take the children Israel and leave. He told them what to do. To kill the first kids and take the blood and sprinkle on the door and that would be twelve o'clock at night when they leave. Not a dog should move his tongue and this is it. But I don't know why I put the snakes. I can't understand that. He said well that's the devil's following in Egypt. Following the children of Israel up because you know in the time -

N.H.S Hold that up here.

M.E. Uh huh. He said that's Egypt. That's - He could see some of the buildings. He said the places had been torn down. Old temples in Egypt, (N.H.S. I see) so that's what all that means. And that dog, He said not a dog should move his tongue.

MR. ROUNTREE: I have known Minnie Evans approximately 35 years and for many of those years I have admired her paintings which were quite un-understandable to me but apparently they showed a mysterious, mystic folklore, dreamy attitude. Minnie, thank goodness, met Mrs. Nina Starr and from there on she began to be appreciated.

N.H.S I want- It was only because of Lawyer Rountree, as Minnie calls him, Mr. Rountree that I got to first base with Minnie because she didn't trust me at first but he told her to trust me.
