M.E.: Where I was born at, you mean? And all like that?
N.H.S: I'll hold it.
M.E.: Now I was born at Long Creek, Pender County

Now, when I woke up I thought that I had just went to sleep. That was around the morning -- eithgt o'clock, or between nine and ten, by time I got to that. In the afternoon, when I woke up, it was quarter to four. Right there all day. When I got up I went out of doors. ....

M.E. Well, I became disturbed, so that I came back in the house. I didn't know what to do. My mother called-- had David to call me up to ask me didn't I want to come out there.

N.H.S.: The story about Minnie's dream of the antses wedding. She said that the ants were in a log and she guessed she was little too 'cause she went in the log with them.

The typescript I have of tape #3 is not complete. It ends/with M.E.: It has given me an opportunity of meeting everybody. And especially in the festival time. Meeting everybody from all over the country. And I'v met people all from foreign lands. Now there was a Mr.--he's dead--he died-- right after my husband died-- Mr. Ferrer, Mr. Jack Ferrer, his name was. And he was very interested in me. If you find more, kindly record and type.

M.E.: I just seen those prophets in the air. But-- And they sang a beautiful song to me, not that I could understand any of their words, but it was the most beautifulest song I have ever heard.

M.E. And well, he got stuck on me and I wasn't particular-- I don't know-- stuck on anybody. So, he taken me to church a time or two, and went out, and when I wanted anything, he wanted to get married ...
