has been in hand for some years, has been finally completed. The type specimens upon which it is based are contained in the National Museum. 
Mr. Robert John Lechmere Guppy, of Port of Spain, Trinidad, West Indies, whose collection of Antillean fossils was purchased by the Museum some years ago,[[strikethough]] by [[/strikethrough]] forwarded descriptions of some supposed new species to be printed in the Proceedings, the types being part of the National Collection. These descriptions owing to Mr. Guppy's isolation from books and named collections required some revision, which he committed to my judgement. The new forms have been figured [[strikethrough]] drawn [[/strikethrough]] and a joint paper by myself & Mr. Guppy on Antillean Tertiary Fossils prepared, completed, and is now in the hands of the printer.
Work on the Neocene fauna of Florida has been continued as opportunity served, and, now that the above mentioned bits of work are out of the way, will be continued until the study is completed. Mr. Chas. T. Simpson has continued his studies on the [[strikethrough]] Naiades [[/strikethrough]] Naiades during the year. The superficial anatomy of a considerable number of species has been examined and notes and descriptions prepared. Much time has been spent in searching the literature and preparing cards of synonymy for use in a synopsis of the Naiades.
