9. Give a list of correspondents whose co-operation has resulted in enriching the collections under your care, and state briefly the manner and extent of such co-operation during the year.

First in enumeration of those who have generously contributed to the increase of the collection must be mentioned the Rev. Dr. L. T. Chamberlain of New York who has contributed to the purchase of books for the Dept. library and specimens (especially Naiades) for the enlargement of the Lea collection.  His contributions in money, expended for these purposes under my direction, sums up $450.00 for the current year.

Others who have steadily contributed to the collection of the Department of Mollusks so as to have earned the title of regular collaborators are Messrs. J.D. Mitchell, Mr & Mrs. T.S. Oldroyd, F.F. Crevecoeur Henry Hemphill, P.B. Randolph, C.F. Newcombe and Dr W. L. Abbott. The entire list follows.
