A series of Lepidoptera was named for Mrs. Gilbert, Plainfield, N.J. and another series for Mrs. F.O. Herring, Plainfield, N.J.

Of Coleoptera two series were named for Ralph Hopping, Bloomfield, N.J., two series for Mr. Coquillett, Los Angeles, Cal., and one for Prof. A.J. Cook, Lansing, Mich. Nearly 7000 specimens of Coleoptera from the Pacific States, belonging to Accessions 24017 and 23340 were carefully examined and incorporated in the systematic collection. The routine work cannot be properly attended to by the aid alone, and I have had Mr. Banks of the Agricultural Department materially assist, especially in the arrangement of the Arachnida.

Respectfully submitted,
C.V. Riley
Hon. Curator of Insects.
