Morning half cloudy. Ther. 44.47.41. Bar. 30.226. Wind WNW fresh with some sea. See peaks of Shishaldin, Isanotsky [Isanotski], and afterward of Sannakh [Sanak] Island. Making very good time toward our destination. P.M. breezes up fresh and about half past six have to shorten sail and come to blowing a westerly gale _ Bar. unchanged_

Ther. 42 48. 45. Bar. 30.220 Early in A.M. wind moderates and we make the S end of Nagai about 5.30. Hazy + cloudy. Wind moderate W. Stand over towards Unga for Popoffsky Strait and anchor inside of Sand Point in 9 fathoms water sandy bottom at 12.45 P.M.
Afternoon cloudy + rainy. Go up the strait and examine the shore for places for baseline + signals. Go onto Range island + get some eggs of terns +c. Get a great number of flowers some new to our collection
Night rainy cloudy and SE fresh_ Bar. 30.160_
