day. Boat goes round to Coal Harbor. Caton comes up from Unga in P.M. also the [[?starcek?]] from Red Cove. Who gets some medicine for his wife. The boat returns from Coal Harbor bringing Dix and a great lot of fossils. He and Caton spend the night with us. Wind lt SE 9 P.M. bar. 29.624.
_Friday June 28_
Ther. 46.5.52.5-44. Wind lt SE, bar. 29.636. Cloudy, foggy, fine rain falling. Caton leaves for Unga Pack fossils all the A.M. About 1 P.M. wind shifts to NW and weather improves a little. Go ashore and start on shore line but it begins to rain immediately and we have to return. Dix goes home and the Capt. dredges a little in the strait getting a specimen of Rictocyma and a new Cancellaria. beside some interesting crustacea and sponges. Evening clears up the fog but still cloudy Bar. 9 P.M. 29.696.
_Saturday June 29_
Cloudy nearly calm w lt NW. Ther. 43.5.47.46.5. Bar. 29.598.  Go out running shoreline from River [[symbol 'delta']] to East Head. Work all day over very bad rocky beaches
