Ther. 54.61.53. Bar. 29.904 Strong squally NW wind, cannot take angles. Sky half cloudy. Go over the portage between Mt. Patterson and [[?Bache]] on the S and Hein and Hilyard on the north and spend the entire day running the shoreline and taking bearings sufficient to plat approximately the whole bay and accurately the entire S shore and harbor there. Finish at 5.15 P.M. and get back to vessel at 7.45 P.M. 9 P.M. bar 30.080 half clear. Fresh NW wind with [[?woolleys]] from the mountains
