Series of insects were identified for Wm. Kayser, Wapakoneta, Ohio, for T. Kincaid, Olympia, Wash., for Thos. A. Smithwick, Walke, Bertie Co., N. C., for Mrs. A. Gilbert, Plainfield, N. J. for Mr. C. H. Rowe, Worcester, Mass. for Prof. A. J. Cook, Lansing, Mich., for D. W. Coquillet, Los Angeles, Cal. and for Mrs. E. B. Herring Plainfield N. J., [[strikethrough]] and [[/strikethrough]] also several smaller series.

The time occupied in taking care of accessions or in correspondence, has been employed chiefly in the study and arrangement of the bird parasites of the family Hippoboscidae.

The re-arrangement of the Phalaenidae has also been commenced, while the European Coleoptera have been put in systematic order.
