11.  Series of about 50 species of Mexican insects of all orders were named as far as practicable for Prof. A. Duges, Guanajuato, Mexico.

As an exchange for accession 25378 (collection of native and exotic Lepidoptera) a series of 900 species in 1900 examples of North American Coleoptera was made up and sent to Mr. G. Beyer of New York.

The rearrangement of the North American Orthoptera was finished.  The collection is contained in 60 cabinet drawers and has represented 597 species in 5925 examples, besides a large duplicate series.  The distribution of species among the families is as follows:

Mantidae  12 species in 110 examples.
Phasmidae   5 species in 50  examples.   
Blattidae  25 species in 175 examples.
Tettigidae  22 species in 275 examples.
Gryllidae  54 species in 350 examples.
