Respy' forwarded, with the information that owing to the dishonest way in which the Maryland Farmers have treated their colored help, it has become notorious amongst the Freedman that to work for a farmer in the state of Maryland is equivalent to working for nothing and with nothing to eat, and unkind treatment for desert, and until the farmers will pay their help and treat them kindly, tis' useless to attempt to get Freedmen to go in the country they prefer the North or extreme South of Maryland.
