Respy returned - there is no old Lumber on hand at Kendal Green Bks nor in charge of Maj Brown. D.O. D.C.- I have ascertained that the building named in this communication was not the property of Timothy Hirley & that the Building was not burned, but torn down by the [[?]] - and the Lumber most of it saved_that Hirley is a drunken worthless fellow, and sobriety unworthy of this Aid from the Bureau. I heretherefore respectfully do request further instructions. Shall need Lumber be purchased under the circumstances? If so, how much?
