Respy returned to Maj. J.V.W. Vandenburgh. I am informed by Mr. M.D. Baker the present employer of Gilbert that he is willing to advance the balance necessary to get Gilbert to Providence.
Tis suggested that the $14.10 mentioned is for all rail, and that the route per boat would be within.
Maj. Vandenburgh will report without delay the action he may take in the matter, which is left to his direction.
