Confirmation of Endorsement on letter of A.K Browne Att'y &c, 
In relation to money due Emiline M Gueu (col) by William Davis.
Red back with the following endorsement.

I have called several times on William Davis and on each occasion have been put off with his promise to call at the Local Supt. Office - and settle this claim - the justness of which he has never questioned - I do not think he will pay the account unless legal proceedings are instituted against him.

Resp'y returned to Local Supt. Messrs Smith, Johnson, Melcher, & Beokley will be discharged to date July 31st and leave of absence will be granted them to that date. Mr Disbrow will be discharged Aug 15" and will have leave of absence from July 31st. All other clerks and Agents in the employ of the Local Supt will probably be speedily discharged.
