On the 19" August 1868. A letter arrived at the office of Local Supt. D.C. This Bureau Head Quarters from W.B. Small enclosing twelve ($12) dollars to pay R.R. Fare for two (2) colored servants from Washington D.C. to New Market. N.C. the records of the Office shon that om the 20th he was notified by letter that the amount ($12) was inadequate "for the fare of one person and that he must forward more" "Funds or nothing could be done in the premises". We have been wanting his answer- I have written him again, to=day.

I do not think so, and have urged him (Doct Bigelon) repeatedly to make a statement of the afc, which he has declined to do, I therefore recommend that this matter be referred to A.K. Browne Egr Bureau Solicitation for prosecution.
