Washington. Apr 22" 1867.

Resp'y returned to Lieut W.W. Rogers A.A.A. Genl. on the night of the 10" inst while the Watchmen at Wisewell Barracks was going his rounds, he overheard the Son of the woman making this complaint, using insulting and foul language towards two of the female tenants. He ordered him to desist from the use of such language or he would Shut him up.

The boy still persisting he shut him in the old guard house, from which he soon made his escape.

A few days afterwards when the same Watchman was again on duty, the boy again disturbed the neighborhood, late at night and was placed by the Watchman in a vacant room & his arms fastened behind him

The case, being reported to Maj Vandenburgh, by the Watchman he ordered his release & forbid all such punishment for the future.

The Mother of the boy had in the mean time attacked the Watchman with the most violent language, & using indecent & profane expressions. She is a violent profane woman, is several months in arrears for the rent of her room, and is a general nuisance. Upon the foregoing facts being reported to me, I ordered that she should be ejected from the Barracks,

after sufficient time being given her to find quarters elsewhere.

The time expires today, and unless I am ordered to allow her to remain, She will be compelled to leave and give place to a good tenant who desires to rent her rooms.
