Barracks [Thro Office Local Supt. D.C.] with direction to employ Mr. E. Hennessey, for one Month to take the place of the Ass't Supt. who is now sick. By order of Bvt Brig Genl. Howard [sgd] Wm. W. Rogers A.A.A. Genl Office Supt. East Capt. B'ks. Washington. May 28th 1867 Resp'y returned. Mr. Sylvester Ass't Supt. who has been sick, is now convalescent, and has resumed his duties, which duties he has performed to my entire satisfaction and that of the Local Supt. I would respectfully suggest that in as much as Rev. Mr. Wright & his wife, Emp Ag'ts have been assigned to other duties. Mr. Hennessey could be made useful here, as an Emp. Ag't. [sgd] J.L.
