Now Sir will you have the Goodness to send me Twenty Five (25) more men and Twelve servant Girls  I have calls nearly every Day for them and for men,  I received a letter from one of Your Clerks that he had commenced collecting men for me, I have heard nothing since. and cant tell what to expect. I have wrote letters for all my men to there Friends. asking them to come out here. I am much in want of the men to make my contracts good. The wages that all are willing to give is $10.00 a month for the first month and as much more as they are worth after that and $6.00 for Girls the first month, and more or less as they are worth to them.

E. F. McGlenn The Post Master at Vernon Center was here last Saturday for a Young Man and a nice Genteel Girl. I let him have one of the Young Men, which wished to go with him James Garrett  it is a fine place —
