Circular Letter 
General.
It having come to the knowledge of the Commissioner that in some cases Commissioned Officers on duty in the Bureau have presented bells for Medical Attendance upon themselves by a private Physician at places where an Acting Assistant Surgeon is employed in the service of the Bureau, he directs that in future medical attendance must be procured from the Medical Officer of the Bureau on duty at the place or vicinity where the Officer is sick or the Officer must pay the bill himself. In no case will any payment be made by the Bureau for medical attendance at places where a Medical Officer is on duty. 
Assistant Commissioner and Surgeons in Chief of Districts, hereafter will not allow more than fifty (50) dollars per month where a contract is made for service in the Bureau with an Acting Assistant Surgeon who is at the same time employed under contract (over)
