Having been informed that you have the charge of the freedmen at and about the City of Washington and that the Government is desirous of securing good and suitable homes for a large number of persons of color I take this opportunity of addressing you on the subject, (having also been informed that you are the proper person to address)

I am desirous of obtaining a colored woman to take charge of my household affairs a woman who is suitable for a cook for a small family and who is at the same time is a good nurse for children  I am only 27 years of age have only two children no other persons in the family

I can give bond or other security if you desire it that the woman shall be well cared for
well clothed well fed and an easy time if she is of good disposition
