Genl Howard;

My dear Sir:
I write to inquire if it would be practicable for me to get assistance from the Government, or from the Freedman's Bureau, in transporting Colored people from Louisville, Ky. or from Cincinnati, to this place, where they are wanted as domestics. I have heard of a few at Louisville who are desirous of coming here, but have no means of their own, and also are too timid to start out alone. They must be sent for. Must they be exclusively recent Freedmen, in order to receive Govt. assistance? And
