Dear Brother
Though a stranger to you I take the liberty to address you in reference to obtaining a freedman to help me on our farm. I have the care of my parents (quite old) and our farm of nearly 100 acres is to large for me to get along with alone. I would like a colored boy 15 or 16 years and will give him a good home and clothe him and if he does well will give him another year all he can earn

I cannot advance any money but if you can send me a good boy I will do what is right
