I am credibly informed that a freedwoman sent by Mrs. Griffing to Albany to Myers (Colored) and employed by Miss Vanderlip though apparently contented and satisfactory to her employer, left and returned to Washington after her first payment.  Mr. Myers says there have many similar cases and that they all say Mrs. Griffing told them they were at liberty to come back any time, and this woman gave as her reason that she wished to see her daughter.
