vagrant boys, and others of the same age and character, sent as they often are in the evening, their clothing fit only to be burned, and with habits of idleness, roaming, and quarreling deeply fixed, exposes my family to much inconvenience in fitting up beds & clothing, but the moral influence is most deplorable.

It would be highly desirable that some other places be found, where the influence of boys initiated in vice, as those from twelve upwards, should not be exerted on so many smaller ones.

It is possible that William Henry Lucas has been enticed away by his relatives, who have been ignorant of his whereabouts till quite recently. His uncle's name is Beverly Lucas living in L. Street between 16 & 17. We particularly regret his leaving for a home at the North had been procured for him and his sister.
