Friend Merton

I have been thinking sometime of writing to you in regard to finding for us a good negro woman for a servant.

I want one that can cook wash & iron and do general house work. Please find a tidy one and one that is not as ugly as sin if there are any such. If you cannot find one that can come without a man I can find a good place for him as well.

The folks here & in Lima are all well as usual. Weather cold & disagreeable.

Let me hear from you as soon as you can and oblige.

Yours truly
Chas. A. Clark
