Washington, May 16th 1867.

Bvt. Lieut. Col. A.P. Ketchum.
Act'g. Asst. Adjt. Genl.

Sir,

I have the honor to call your attention to the following statement. Mrs. Tobin (white) states that she is in a destitute condition, and that her husband is unable to do anything on account of sickness. She has two children, George 10 years old, and Elizabeth 8 years old whom she is unable to support and would like to have them taken care of. They reside near Arlington at the end of the Aqueduct Bridge.

Very Respectfully.
Your Obedient Servant.
J. A. Bemis
