In compliance with instructions from Office Local Supt. D.C., I have the honor to submit the following report regarding the assistance rendered this office by Mr. Wm Jefferson.

Mr. Jefferson was employed out side the office, in offering employment to such freedpeople as he could find unemployed, and referring them to this office for work. I am not aware that I have received any material assistance through his aid.

Since about the 26th day of May last, he has been employed in securing the attendance of colored children to the Public Schools, and he reports the following result
