Gen'l C. H. Howard
Asst. Com. F. Bureau

Dear Sir:
I presented to you a few days since the condition of a destitute soldier who desired some employment, and from the interest you manifested in his case I thought you intended to provide for him somehow. Your Sup't also seemed to think that it was a case deserving attention and stated that something would be done for him in a few days. I have however not yet heard of anything being done for him and as his case was at the time extreme and as it is growing more difficult every day & hour for him to get along, I am compelled to call your attention to him again. Can he not have some employment by June 1st? His name was John Nash.

Very Truly Yours
B. B. Emory
