Dear Sir
Yours of 12th inst was received in my absence — 

In reference to your questions — 

1st  We pay once a month — 

2d   We work from 100 to 150 Men as Miners and Laborers — 

3rd  We should not want any, but good laboring Men — none above 40 years of age — 

4th  Wages are from $1 to $1 50 pr Day for Laborers — and for Miners $ 1 15 cts pr Ton — & good hand will earn from $3- to 5- Dolls pr day — 

Since canvassing this matter a new feature has come up — a Political one — aside from the opposition we should experience from the old Miners — who mean to keep all other labor out — the Citizens — are strong on the Copperhead
