Respectfully returned to Bvt Lt Col James Johnson S. A. C with the following report. After a thorough investigation of this care I find that the child in question is at Mr George Marshalls, His statement of the case is entirely in conflict with Rosa Millers, I have every reason to believe Mr Marshalls statement (which at his request I enclose) he is a gentleman of very good character.

Mr Marshall is at all times ready to deliver up the girl, if so directed
