I have the honor to solicit information concerning the whereabouts of the following-named persons - children of an old colored woman Mrs. Mary Ann Morris more usually called Mary Ann Hicks - her maiden name.

Herself and children belonged to James Gregory of Chesterfield Court House Va from who she was purchased by a Dr. John Gilroy of Richmond Va who removed to Chas County M'd and from there to this city where he died at the commencement of the rebellion.

She has not heard of them since
